NOTIFICATION OF STUDY PROGRAMME REMOTE LEARNING WEEK
Green Labyrinth Study Programme will be moving to 100% online learning for all learners for the last week of this term. This is from Monday 14th December - Friday 18th December inclusive. 100% online learning is for this week only. Face to face lessons will resume after the Christmas break.
Why have you moved to online learning for the last week of term?
There are a few reasons why we have decided to move to online learning for the last week of this term.
There are updates happening to our building WiFi system and, for health and safety reasons, we need to keep the number of people in the building to a minimum
We are incredibly proud of our online learning platforms, and this week will give learners the opportunity to engage with it more and develop their digital skills further
Will my timetable change?
All the lessons which are on your normal timetable will now take place online. Your tutors will send a Microsoft Teams invite to your email address. You will also use the Green Labyrinth Online (GLO) platform to complete your work at home.
Please note that lessons will end early at 1:15pm on Thursday 17th December.
I don’t know how to learn online - what can I do to prepare?
Green Labyrinth staff will prepare you throughout the week of 7th December. This will include:
making sure we have the correct email address for you
showing you Green Labyrinth Online (GLO) and making sure you have your login details
showing you Microsoft Teams (online video software where your lessons will be taught)
helping you download the right apps on your phone so you are prepared
supplying you with any equipment you may need
signing your Acceptable Behaviour for Remote Learning Agreement
What if I can’t access my classwork?
If you have any problems in accessing the work you have been sent, please contact your tutor first. If you have limited technology at home, we will do our best to support you in accessing your classwork.
What if I can’t attend my online lessons?
The Attendance Policy remains in place, so if you cannot attend your online lesson you must let us know by sending an email to email@example.com. If you do not let us know, this will be noted as an unauthorised absence.
If you are unwell, it is important to follow government guidelines and stay inside your home. You will still be emailed to attend online classes. Please contact us to let us know you are unwell and contact your tutor if you are unable to complete the work due to illness.
I’m worried about not having any support from Green Labyrinth

I get Free School Meals - will I still receive my packed lunch?
If you are entitled to Free School Meals, you will be contacted separately with details on how Green Labyrinth will continue to support you during our Remote Learning Week and over Christmas period.

When do I come back to college?
Learners are due back for face-to-face lessons on Wednesday 6th January 2021 due to two teacher training days on 4th and 5th January 2021. Your distant learning will also start again from Wednesday 6th January!
The team are on Christmas break from Monday 21st December - Friday 1st January inclusive. We will be available from Monday 4th January 2021.
This is an important part of the new normal and it will take time and practice to get used to a new system and learn in a new way. We are really looking forward to seeing all the fantastic work you will produce during our Remote Learning Week.
Finally, all staff at Green Labyrinth would like to wish you a fantastic Christmas and New Year. Stay safe and we will see you in 2021!
