An Exciting New Work Experience Alternative!
A Traineeship is a skills development programme that includes a work placement. It can last from 6 weeks up to 1 year, though most traineeships last for less than 6 months. They are designed to help young people aged 16 to 19 who don’t yet have the appropriate skills or experience, and unlock their great potential to prepare them for their future careers helping them to become ‘work ready’.
Traineeships provide the essential work preparation training, English, maths and work experience needed to secure an apprenticeship or employment.
Traineeships for Young People
Green Labyrinth Training is proud to be supporting our local students with a fantastic opportunity to gain work experience through a Traineeship Programme.
You will be a full time student with Green Labyrinth Training and attend our centre in Milton Road for lessons in English and Maths (if required) and a vocational subject to support your Traineeship. You will spend 2-3 days a week in a work placement where you will learn on the job.
The Traineeship has flexible start and end times but typically will last from 3 to 6 months and are designed to help young people move into an apprenticeship, further education and other employment.
Green Labyrinth Training will be offering Traineeships in:
- Business administration,
- Customer Service
- Digital Marketing.
There are some minimum entry requirements which will be discussed on application.
You will be assigned a Job Coach who will be your main contact from Green Labyrinth Training who will prepare and support you in your work placement.
Traineeships for Employers
The flexibility of Traineeships offers employers the opportunity to help build a pool of high quality future recruits for your sector.
Traineeships can last up to a maximum of 6 months and will include:
- work preparation training provided by the training organisation
- English and maths support if required, provided by the training organisation
- a high-quality work experience placement with an employer
In addition to these basic elements, you as the employer and Green Labyrinth can add flexible additional content to meet the needs of your business and the local labour market.
At the end of their Traineeship, each young person will be guaranteed a job interview if a role becomes available or an exit interview together with meaningful written feedback to help them secure an apprenticeship or employment with another employer.
