What is Study Programme?
Green Labyrinth was built to serve the community in which it is placed. Accordingly, we are an alternative provision training centre serving learner in Swindon and Wiltshire. We cater for learners of all abilities aged 16-19, 19+ learners require specialist provision with an Education & Health Care Plan or 16-24-year olds eligible for a traineeship.
In order to help the learner find their path to success, they will be assigned a mentor on sign-up, receive regular information, advice and guidance throughout the year and study up to date accredited qualifications through government funding.
The Workskills Study Programme includes:
- BTEC Pearsons Level 1 or Level 2 Workskills Diploma
- English and Maths Functional Skills at Entry 3, Level 1 or Level 2 and/or GCSE
- Tutorials covering; safeguarding, personal wellbeing, British Values and more
- Enrichment choices including; Arts, Boxing, Tech Club and more
Small classes of 6-10 mean we can personalise our learners’ programme and maximise their potential. To enable learners to achieve their goals, we also provide specialist support in the classroom for those with additional needs and barriers to learning. Our focus is learner progression. Learners generally progress to a second year with us, mainstream college, an apprenticeship or employment.
Some learners will be encouraged to attend a work placement as part of their programme. Green Labyrinth staff will endeavour to find a placement with the learner which matches their interests and develops the skills they require. The duration of the work placement will depend on the learner.
The learner and employer will be supported throughout the placement by Green Labyrinth staff and regular meetings will ensure the learner is happy and progressing towards their goals.
Traineeships are designed help young people who want to get an apprenticeship or job but do not yet have appropriate skills or experience.
A traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience that unlocks the great potential of young people and prepares them for their future careers by helping them become ‘work ready’. Designed to help young people aged 16 to 24, traineeships provide the essential work preparation training, English, maths and other appropriate training needed to secure an apprenticeship or employment.
