Your journey to excellence starts here...
Green Labyrinth Education (GLE) offers a range of pathways
for students aged 16-19 or up to 25 for those with an Education and Health Care
Plan (EHCP). Whether you require a
vocational pathway from level 1 to level 3 or a more supportive route back in
to education through distance learning, counselling and mentoring we may have a
programme to suit.
What We Offer
We also offer a Level 1 Preparation for employment, or you can choose to progress onto an apprenticeship or
traineeship if you are looking for practical experience.
Enrichment Programme 22/23
Green Labyrinth aim to provide an enrichment programme which supports student development in a variety of ways. Our enrichment programme aims to prepare students for progression, citizenship, and employment and to support their wellbeing and develop their skills.
We have grouped our enrichment skills and qualities potential in to the 8 common enrichment categories. These categories were identified in the AoC funded Enrichment research project.
We have colour coded the groups and included the skills and qualities we believe each enrichment holds the potential to offer each student undertaking that activity.
Social and emotional literacy.
Citizenship, political literacy, leadership, campaigning & advocacy.
Creative and performing arts and cultural literacy.
Language and literacy – including oracy.
Enterprise and economic literacy
Sport, fitness, physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Contributing to the community and social action.
Understanding the world; global issues and international links.
The afore mentioned research project also identifies a series of rationales for enrichment which we believe fit our own motives for enrichment and provide a base for students to garner new skills and qualities and support the scaffolding of skills and qualities taught in academic/vocational topics with an enhanced experiential capacity for growth and development.
Colleges’ rationale for enrichment can be described in several ways:
Voluntarism: these are electives - activities which students choose to engage in, with all the motivation and engagement which follows.
Entitlement: some colleges offer a menu but expect everyone to choose something.
Deepening: the opportunity to extend and deepen a student’s awareness, understanding or experience - this can support or complement their main programme.
Broadening: these are activities which extend students’ horizons and allow them to explore their own interests and aspirations as well as develop new skills.
Complementarity: activities which contrast with a student’s main programme, contributing to broadening.
Motivation: engaging students, helping them to connect them to the college and wider community.

Try a Traineeship!
An Exciting New Work Experience Alternative!
A Traineeship is a skills development programme that includes a work placement. It can last from 6 weeks up to 1 year, though most traineeships last for less than 6 months. They are designed to help young people aged 16 to 19 who don’t yet have the appropriate skills or experience, and unlock their great potential to prepare them for their future careers helping them to become ‘work ready’.
Traineeships provide the essential work preparation training, English, maths, and work experience needed to secure an apprenticeship or employment.
